Europe is a word on the lips of many Londoners these days.

Leaving the politics to one side, we believe taking a tour around the city’s continental food scene is something everyone can enjoy.

Now, we’re big fans of London’s sophisticated French bistros and charming Italian eateries.

However, if you are looking to branch out, we recommend taking a moment to appreciate the many Portuguese restaurants in London.

For years, Stockwell has been known as a welcoming home for London’s Portuguese community.

In fact, beloved restaurants like Grelha D’Ouro and A Toca are just a short stroll away from Stockwell Tube station.

Other neighbourhoods are now also showing Portuguese cuisine some love, and for good reason.

Meat, seafood, pastries, fresh vegetables, wine… Portuguese cuisine has the lot. So grab a coffee, sit yourself down and get ready to shake up your weekend dinner plans.

Putting Portuguese restaurants in London firmly on the map, Casa do Frango is an eatery that stays true to the roots of Algarvian cooking. Home to arguably the city’s finest piri-piri chicken, the chargrilled flavours on offer are sure to leave you all hot and bothered. An attractive and rustic space illuminated by natural light, Casa do Frango has London foodies in raptures. Our advice? Come for the chicken & sweet potato feijoada, stay for the green wine and pastéis de nata.
